Our curriculum includes the following four parts:
Tefillah: Prayer In the 'buy-ness' of everyday life, prayer gives us the opportunity for introspection. Our goal is for our students to attain a familiarity with both the mechanics and deeper messages of the prayers, along with Tzedakah.
Kriah: Hebrew Reading Attaining the skill of Hebrew reading allows our students to connect to their Jewish identity through the Torah's original language.
Chagim: Holidays. Each holiday celebrates a unique story, a distinct message, along with special practices and rituals that bring the holiday alive. Our holiday curriculum synthesizes these three elements (story, deeper message, rituals/practices), bringing relevance and joy to the Holiday.
Our Story: History. The history of the Jewish nation is really the story of every individual Jew. Students will be introduced to key events and characters in the Torah. From Moses and Aaron, through the journey of our ancestors from Egypt to the Land of Israel. Students will learn to know and feel their part in our Jewish history. Lessons are interactive, fascinating and relevant. Children are inspired to add their link to the chain of Jewish history.
All classes begin their day with Tefilla, and giving Tzedakah. Classes will also take a break from their general curriculum around the time of the holidays to delve into the meaning of the holidays and appreciate their beauty. Each class contains an interactive way to tell the story and a hands-on activity where the children continue learning the story or internalize the message.
The curriculum is designed to generate a positive change in children by encouraging them to integrate Torah and Mitzvot into their lives. Through focused lesson goals and repeated application, the children will gain real skills and will be able to effect a genuine change in their lives. The curriculum offers timeless lessons and ways to integrate the knowledge children need to practically implement the skill. Children will have the passion and knowledge to live Jewish, by internalizing the lessons and skills they learn. Upon completion of this course, the student will have created a method to integrate Torah, Mitzvot and Jewish Holidays into their lives and developed methods to create change in the world around them.
This course engages children in discovering the higher purpose of everyday lifestyle, and gives them the tools to practically implement their inspiration.
